Give Me Tomorrow
The Korean War’s Greatest Untold Story—The Epic Stand of the Marines of George Company

Description
“If I were God, what would you want for Christmas?” With a thousand-yard stare, a haggard and bloodied marine looked incredulously at the war correspondent who asked him this question. In an answer that took “almost forever,” the marine responded, “Give me tomorrow.”
After nearly four months of continuous and bloody combat in Korea, such a wish seemed impossible. For many of the men of George Company, or “Bloody George”—one of the Forgotten War’s most decorated yet unrecognized companies—this would be their last day.
This is the epic story of George Company, Spartans for the modern age. After storming ashore at Inchon and fighting house-to-house in Seoul, America’s last reserve unit found itself on the frozen tundra of the Chosin Reservoir facing an entire division of Chinese troops. Little did this small band of men—green troops who had been rushed through training to bring fresh forces to the war—know they would soon be saviors. This is their story, and it will never again be forgotten.
Audio Book Reviews
“Patrick O’Donnell’s Give Me Tomorrow is more than an infantryman’s war story. It is about gut-level combat—up-close and personal, with rifle and bayonet—that separates the men from the boys…O’Donnell’s story telling is superb. By using the Leathernecks’ own words and personal accounts, he brings the manuscript to life. Each page resonates with authenticity…I like this book…it stirs the blood of an old infantryman.”—Colonel Dick Camp (ret.), author of Operation Phantom Fury
“Military historian O’Donnell chronicles a Marine company’s struggles in the toughest campaign of the Korean War…Drawing on interviews with the surviving members of George Company, O’Donnell graphically details the rigors of battle in the brutal Korean winter…While he does not underplay the horrors of the war, and does justice to the lighter moments that men remember years later, the author shines when he captures such catch-in-the-throat moments as when the Fifth and Seventh Marines, coming into base after a harried withdrawal under intense Chinese pressure, marched in singing the Marine Hymn…George Company’s performance at Chosin Reservoir practically defines heroism. O’Donnell brings it to vivid life.”—Kirkus Reviews (starred review)
